St. Mary's has three separate dates built into the school calendar where parents are required to meet with their child's teacher to discuss the student's progress in his/her class. However, if the need arises, I am always willing to schedule a time to meet with parents outside of the regular conference schedule. Please do not hesitate to e-mail me or call the school office to set up a time to get together. I can usually meet before or after school (until 3:00 pm). However, with a few days of advance notice, I can arrange for a time later in the afternoon if needed. I have an open door policy in my classroom - for both parents and students. I consider myself to be a fair and reasonable teacher and I welcome the opportunity to discuss any and all aspects of your child's education. I want to make their academic experience a positive and rewarding one. I will do my best to listen to your needs and concerns and make adjustments that I feel are conducive for the learning environment of your child as well as for the classroom. While I value the thoughts and opinions of parents and students, I do ask that you trust my judgment when it comes to what works best in the classroom setting. If you feel there is an issue or need that I have not addressed appropriately, do not hesitate to bring me your concerns. If the situation cannot be corrected to your satisfaction, I will recommend a group conference with the principal to sort out the issue.
