For the next few weeks, students will be working on their creative writing skills. We will working on the theme of Thanksgiving. First we will spend a little time gaining some background information about the history of Thanksgiving. We will explore interactive Thanksgiving website from Scholastic.com. Then students will write their own version of the first Thanksgiving, integrating the facts they learned from the study as well as their own creative voice to make a unique short story. In the end, the stories will be published on a Thanksgiving web page created by the 4th & 5th grade classes together.
